Orangery and Loggia Conversion in Herts

As with so many modern 3-storey properties the ground floor plan was deemed unsuitable for the increasing demands of a growing family.

We devised to create an Oakland Orangery to be constructed off the existing kitchen to form a new open plan family room where all the family could interact, discussing the days events whilst pre-paring the family meals.

Whilst our designers were planning the Orangery we observed that these properties came with a large loggia that was often only being used for the storage of garden furniture and odds and ends.

We proposed to turn this under-used space into a fantastic garden room giving this growing family even more valuable space.

(We were informed neighbours had already made a Planning Application for a change of use for the loggia and was told this was rejected by the planners).

We at Oakland like a challenge and so a full Planning Application/Building Regulations was applied for and with a little tweaking here and there full Planning Permission and Building Regulations was obtained.

Velux roof lights and full Bi-folding doors were used to allow the loggia to be opened fully to the garden all year round.
